Immortals
The Immortals are supposed to be the former civilization on Wundera. We don't know much about them, but they're behind the Groves of Seasons.
The Immortals created the first great empire of Wundera, one that reigned for over five thousand years. It is believed that they had vastly superior technology, much that has remained lost to this day. They were an ageless and beautiful species, however they would look very bizarre compared to today’s beauty standards. The few remains that have been found showed them to stand between six and eight feet tall, with elongated limbs that had two sets of elbows and knees, as well as long, conical heads. They were truly ageless and could only be felled by injury. Few remains have been found amongst what little ruins remain, as much of the history of the Immortals was destroyed during their downfall. The Giants, however, are astute record keepers, especially when it comes to their enemies.
The Immortals were a brutal and war-like species, hell-bent on expanding their empire. There are numerous accounts of battles and territory struggles against the Giants. They drove the Ancients into extinction in a series of crusades, believing them to be inferior. The writings even say that the Immortals defeated three of the Great Mother Dragons, who were known as the mightiest in the realm. At its height, the Immortal Empire stretched across the entire Eastern continent, and into much of the Southern. Their war mongering would eventually be their downfall, as the Immortals were unable to produce offspring; denied that right by their Stone Giant creator. Over the centuries of constant expansion their numbers dwindled.
By 1000 P.E., the Immortal Empire had shrunk to the size of one city state.
Around this time, a mass extinction event known as the Stolen Star wiped out the remaining population. It’s believed that this event inadvertently birthed the Elves a thousand years later, beginning the next age of Wundera.
